A while ago I was listening to an audiobook on Spotify. In case you didn’t know, you only get 15 hours of audiobooks a month on there. So at some point I ran out and just never got back to it.
Details I can remember from the book: there were multiple different perspectives/self contained stories in the book. The setting is maybe 1700’s Europe/england.
There is a character who gets on a ship. He saves a stowaway foreigner from being thrown overboard. He gets a brain parasite and they give him medicine to survive.
There is a different character, who is a musician. He becomes the understudy of an old composer who is now blind and therefore can’t finish his own music. He ends up in a romantic situation with the old man’s daughter.
Sorry if this is out of place on this subreddit but anyone who knows what this book is, I appreciate it.
