I always have an audiobook to listen to in addition to the physical book i’m reading. I only really listen to mysteries/thrillers because they are easy to follow BUT I find that so many modern mysteries are soul crushingly boring, predictable and just basic. These are some of the mystery and thriller books i’ve read or listened to that i’ve loved and didn’t love over the years.
didn’t love
– middle of the night by riley sager
– the last time i lied by riley sager
– the kind worth killing by peter swanson
– hidden pictures by jason rekulak
– first lie wins by ashley elston
– the woman in cabin 10 by ruth ware
liked/loved
– the millennium trilogy by stieg larson
– home before dark by riley sager
– then she was gone by lisa jewel
– penpal by dathan aurbach
– the silent patient by alex michaelides
– dark matter, recursion, and upgrade by blake crouch
I’ve never read steven king because i would rather read a physical copy of his books. Any suggestions on some good thrillers that aren’t predictable? STG I think more modern/recent thrillers are so boring because everything’s been done. Am open to some older book recs.
