I recently enjoyed reading Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther, and Brontë's Wuthering Heights. I'm looking for more romance novels, as these books fall into that genre. However, other romance novels don't quite match the unique feel of these works. I particularly appreciate their protagonists, and while Heathcliff isn't a typical protagonist, let's count him as one.
