Book where the plot goes from stone-age to space age like in Children of Time and Dragon’s Egg

Other than thw two books in the title, I've read Semiosis by Sue Burke that has similar plot structure, but I didn't like that one. Didn't hate it—it was wonderfully written—but didn't like it either so I gave up in the middle.

Are there more books with similar plot structure?
