Hey! To start of, Im not quite sure what I'm looking for.. Im not religious but Ive always been fascinated by lore involving something greater than humans. LOTR and especially Silmarillion are perfect – describing an intriticate and "logical" world of gods and demons and the creation of the universe.

Recently I read some of the fandom on a wikipage about gods and demons and became really interested in the "lore" of Abrahamic religions (for example Lucifer, Asmodeus, Ayin, Cherubs, the creation and Tehom)

I would be really interested to read books about this topic. It can be fiction or non fiction (prefereably not a dry 1000 p. long one.) Can anybody suggest books that cover this/these topics? The perfect book would be similar to Neil Gaimans book about Norse Mythology, but im guessing its a long shot. Open to all suggestions!

Ps.: I'm well aware of the old and the new Testament..

    Thanks a lot in advance

*Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff* by Christopher Moore. A book about Jesus’ “lost years” as told by his bff.

    2. Bart Ehrman writes a lot of very approachable books on Christian apocrypha — apocrypha being Christian writings that are about Biblical characters and written near that time, but are not in the actual Bible
_Lost Christianities_ is a fun introduction, but most of his stuff is great.

    3. I started Noah Primeval. I unfortunately had some life happen about halfway through, and haven’t had time to restart. It is definitely interesting.

    4. Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman discusses it in a humorous way.

Frederick Buechner has some good books that fit this description.
