Hey folks, I'm looking for something that is normal/realistic but has some fantastical elements mixed in.
Preferably – a book where the main character/s are intrigued by these magical elements but their true nature evades the characters and/or they never get to go too deep but may benefit from them to achieve whatever goal they have in the novel.
I've got Piranesi and One Hundred Years of Solitude and I read The Master and Margarita a few months ago but none of these will scratch this particular itch I don't think…. please suggest something!
Obviously – please no YA/romance/smut or anything that gets too fantastical/sci-fi. I don't want a whole world full of pixies but if a pixie decides to pop up in a 21st century office and refuse to elaborate what her purpose is to a bewildered main character – that's fine 😀
