I'm looking for a long fantasy or fiction (mystery, sci fi, YA) series/world that I can live in for a few weeks. It doesn't have to be super well written, but it does have to be entertaining. I want likable characters & a found-family would be nice. I don't care what type of romance trope, but please don't spoil the trope if you suggest a book!

    Series I've enjoyed include:

    • zodiac academy
    • throne of glass
    • ACOTAR
    • the mortal instruments (although I read this a long time ago – I remember enjoying it but maybe my tastes have changed since then, idk)
    • harry potter of course
    • the naturals (this was only four books long but I enjoyed it very much)

    1. The books aren’t huge, but there’s 5+1 of them. Some of my favorite characters and chemistry, is from the Memoirs of Lady Trent, by Marie Brennan.
They’re not typical fantasy, they’re essentially about a Victorian wannabe dragon scientist, and they’re just so charmingly written.

The Drizzt Saga is up to over 30 books now. It was originally published in sets of 3 or 5 so there are plenty of break points.  It’s light, full of action and has a found family.  There is little romance.
