My last two reads (The Starless Sea and The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle) started off with such promise, and ultimately left me confused and disappointed. I feel like I invested so much time and energy for little reward. (Sorry to fans of those books!)
Please recommend something that’s satisfying and will leave me feeling warm and cozy. Im thinking something light and funny, but doesn’t have to be. I’m open to both fiction and nonfiction.

The sellout by Paul Beaty is absolutely hilarious and quite offensive if you’re up for that. Go with an open mind!
*All My Friends are Superheroes* by Andrew Kaufman is one of my comfort reads.
*The Thief of Always* by Clive Barker is another one.
Ok hear me out… A Cat Cafe Christmas by Codi Gary. It’s a PG-13 cozy romance about finding love at the cat cafe. It’s really cute and comforting. As someone who primarily reads horror, this was way outside the norm for me and I loved it!
