Hi Reddit!
I’m hoping you can recommend a book for my boyfriend who wants to get into reading. He’s tried to read a couple books here and there over the years but has always fizzled out.
I think he needs a book that will suck you in pretty quickly. Here are things he likes:
– thrillers / suspense
– mystery
– he liked the dune audiobook
– historical fiction (I’m iffy cause the last book he tried reading was a ww2 historical fiction)
Some of his favorite tv shows are (if this helps)
– Dexter
– got
– breaking bad
– Sherlock

The Way of Kings. hooks you from chap 1, trust me. My husband listened to the audiobook and also said it was really good
He should try the Game of Thrones or Sherlock Holmes books, since he likes those shows.
The Martian is my go-to recommendation for guys who aren’t big readers. Great hook at the beginning, fast paced and funny.
Blake Crouch’s man-on-the-run sci-fi thriller **Dark Matter**
If he liked the Dune Audiobook why not try the Martian by Andy Weir as audibook? It’s really great. (And it’s also a great read.)
