Hey all,
Title says it all?
Can anyone suggest me a good romantic novel?
I love and hate (and love to hate) movies and stories about a big-time city girl who is forced to go or return to her small rural or semi-rural town and rediscovers “real America,” “community,” “real people,” etc
Like she ditches her useless and vapid big-city boyfriend and falls in love with the big and burly cowboy/rancher/farm boy in her hometown.
I’d love a recommendation for a book that’s similar
Or…
The opposite
Like the roles are revered and it’s a guy. Like it’s told from the burly guy’s perspective, told from the perspective of a big city guy who falls in love with a farm girl, etc
Or the farm girl goes to the city or she brings her vapid urbanite boyfriend and teaches him about her small town/farm etc…
I’d also be very interested in a novel or story told from the dumped boyfriend/husband’s perspective.
I am also interested if anyone has one where the main character is a lesbian or bisexual woman (I saw one where one of the guys was gay a while ago, but I don’t remember the name).
Location can be in any country and anywhere, but I am specifically looking for rural “American” setting (farm country- Midwest, the south, upstate New York, etc)
Anything goes!
PS- yes, I am a guy from a big city whose farm-girl girlfriend ran away back to her small town in the Midwest and then dumped me over the phone
