I just finished Flowers for Alguernon and i’m devastated, i cant help thinking about everything Charlie went through and all he wanted in the end was to be smart so that people could like him and be his friends 😭
the way the language broke in the end as we’re shown that he slowly is forgetting how to spell and write correctly. everything about this book was harsh. but at least he gets to spend the rest of his days with people like him who will never make fun of him…..excuse me while i go cry my heart out.

It’s perfect
If you ever need a refresher to the feeling then dig out the 1959 short story the novel is based on.
It punches harder in my opinion.
