i just finished reading her published essays, and i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for personal essays/memoirs that feel reminiscient and evocative. something like joan didion's vibe. i've heard people talking about how similar eve babitz is to didion, but their works seem almost identical to me (both about their lives in california, etc). i'm looking for something with the same vibe but not same stories if that makes sense.
