A recent search for a book I remembered reading in my distant childhood has made me aware of just how obscure even excellent books can become with the passage of time.
In an era when many of a vintage author's works can be purchased as an ebook 'megapack' for a nominal fee, it's surprising to me that publishers and copyright holders don't put much effort into turning old books into ebooks. Sure, if it isn't perceived that there's a demand, there won't be effort… but how can demand be increased if the books aren't available in the first place?
