    Hi,

I'm trying to get back into reading but unfortunately I've recently quit a cocaine habit as well as currently reducing my alcohol intake slowly so my attention span is all over the place.

I figure audiobooks are a reasonably good substitution and I'll be trying to read a few pages of a book each night also.

I'd love a book that just really works in audio format like project hail Mary and I'm mostly into sci-fi, fantasy, horror and crime but I'm open to most genres.

    My current reading list is:

Do androids dream of electric sheep,

The man in the high castle,

Harlan ellisons greatest hits (mostly for I have no mouth and I must scream),

The serpent and the wings of night,

    The mask falling,

    Metro 2033

So most of what I've got sat on the shelf ready to read at the moment is more on the depressing side so if you could suggest me an audiobook that's similar but a bit more on the light side.

Also think I'll struggle with any classic sci-fi stuff as it tends to be a bit slow paced and as much as I love asimov and arthur c Clarke, I just think I could do with a bit more excitement!

    Thanks in advanced!

Easy to read, fun to listen to (great narrator). Not a real deep series, but super fun and engaging. Definitely something to take your mind off other things.

The His Dark Materials series are great audiobooks, unabridged with a full cast.
