    I’m going on a trip pretty soon, and I’m not well versed in horror novels. I’m also not a big reader, but I’ve always loved the horror genre since I was a little kid XD

    I’ve been thinking about checking out Steven King stuff to get started. Maybe IT or The Shining since the movies are ok (they’re both not my favourite for separate reasons, but that’s fine lol). But I was curious if people had any ideas?

    I love fantasy/fantasy elements. And dragons too lol. But true crime is also interesting to me, as well as murder mysteries. I think the only one of those I’ve ever read all the way through is Murder on the Orient Express, which was a tough read for the age I was when I read it (maybe 12-13).

    Any suggestions??? Any and all are welcome, and dw about content warnings and whatnot 🙂

    Hope everyone is doing well!

      You could try ‘Pet Sematary’ by Stephen King – such a fantastic read.
      ‘The house across the lake’ by Riley Sager is another good read!

      * Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell. I didn’t find this one particularly scary even though it’s described as horror.

      * Comfort Me With Apples by Catherynne M.Valente

      * Leech by Hiron Ennes

      * The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir

      >as well as murder mysteries

      * Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty. Or any of the books by Mur Lafferty. They are murder mysteries in space.
