I read non-fiction for work, personal finance, science, and a lot of other areas. I haven’t completed a fiction book since the *Written in My Own Heart’s Blood” in 2014.
I see there is a new novel in the Outlander series but that would be taking the easy way.
Along with the Outlander series, I loved the Clan of the Cave Bear series. Obviously, I like series and big juicy books.
Loved The Handmaid’s Tale but dystopian novels upset me. 1984. Fahrenheit 451. Love them all. But they stress me out.
I like the historical or prehistorical settings. I like the romance, competition for love, and sex. (If there are paranormal aspects that’s fine but it’s not on my checklist for the perfect book.)
Not into vampires or sci fi.
Especially enjoy books set in the British Isles or ancient civilizations like Rome and Egypt.
