A little background: I'm not a regular reader (I'm a complete newbie). I've read a few books in my life like the Alchemist, psychology of money, a monk who sold his ferrari, rich dad poor dad, etc. I know it's all full of self help books but now I wanna restart reading and don't want to read self-help kind of books. I want something else, something addictive, maybe something related to psychology or something, I want to try new area, so please suggest me some starters? I know, this information isn't enough to suggest someone books but please try.
Also, I was thinking to start Franz Kafka (the metamorphosis, more specifically) and 1984 by George Orwell. Are these books good to start with? As a beginner?
