Hello everyone!
I love reading horror novels, most of which are standalone, but lately I've decided that I need a bit of a break and would like to read a more mature fantasy series spanning multiple books! Something I can read to take off some of the stress once college rolls around in September you know?
For reference (In addition to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson which I've read as a kid.) I have read and enjoyed the following fantasy series:
-
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien.
-
The Witcher by Andrzej Sapowski.
Additionally, I would prefer to not read the following two series:
-
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin.
-
The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.
Of course I do plan to read both of these eventually, but on one hand I don't really wanna read an incomplete series, and on the other hand I think 14 books is a bit… too much.
(Also, bonus points if the series features dragons at some point!)

ASOIAF IS the best series of the lot. Go over to Fantasy and they’ll tell you that too, finished or not. If you must have an ending, watch the series after. Not as good but give you the basics.
I would also suggest any of Daniel Abrahams sole works.
The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik starting with His Majesty’s Dragon.
It’s the Napoleonic Wars except with a dragon based air force.
Robin Hobb’s Farseeer trilogy is right up your alley.
If you liked Harry Potter, you might like the Mistborn original trilogy, it is about a mistreated orphan with a talent for magic that has to learn quickly to fight the seemingly immortal bad guy, but there are a lot of twists and turns for the ‘chosen one’
