I read some Agatha Christie books and I’m addicted to mystery novels now.
Looking for some mystery novels like or by Agatha Christie. I’ve read ‘and then there were none’ as well as ‘the murder on the Orient express’, also the Roger ackroyed one. I absolutely loved those and I want some recommendations similar to that, even by Agatha Christie herself. Don’t mind any adult themes or scenes.

Fandorin series by Boris Akunin.
Agatha Christie wrote over 60 mysteries, so you are good there.
Another mystery series writer is Alexander McCall Smith. Over 100 books.
*The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency* series, set in Botswana. Beautifully written, good characters, you get a feel for the country.
{{The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton}} is pitched as Goundhog Day meets Quantum Leap meets Agatha Christie. I enjoyed it, but I’ve never read any Christie to compare.
Before I give you any recommendations, tell me if you mean ‘any mystery novel, written right up to modern times’ or whether you want more Golden Age novels, ie 1920 -50s.
I read a lot of crime novels so I need you to help me do my recs!
I really don’t know how similar they are, but maybe try Ellery Queen?
{{The Roman Hat Mystery by Ellery Queen}}
Margery Allingham – Her Campion novels are a hoot
David Baldacci – the Memory Man novels are modern day, and some of the best mysteries I’ve read.
The Inspector Morse novels are also top notch, IMO.
I always recommend *The Moonstone* by Wilkie Collins. It is less famous than Agatha Christie’s novels but it was very influencial in the formation of the genre and ahead of its time in many ways.
The “similar to” requirement is a bit vague but I am going to interpret it as meaning books that are not so much about the eccentricity or angst of the detective and mostly about challenging the reader to solve a puzzle. If so, the Nero Wolfe stories might interest you.
You might like Georges Simenon’s Maigret series.
