Recently, I browsed through my bookshelves and ratings and was a bit taken aback by my earlier opinions.
I have some five-star reads that I'm pretty sure wouldn't rate as such anymore (e.g., The Alchemist, Narcissus and Goldmund). I was young and felt very wise and deep.
Others I didn't like at all, but looking back, I think I was maybe too young to understand, or read them in too much of a different headspace, such as Slaughterhouse-Five or The Corrections.
What are some books you wouldn't recommend anymore that were once your favorites? Which ones were you likely too critical of?
