I really enjoy books like Dune or Project Hail Mary, or even the Witcher series and Nubnautica which heavily refine their mythical flora and fauna. I'm looking for something with fantasy creatures, but the more detailed the made up "science" is the better.
Especially looking for books that explore entire ecosystems, and how changes in the food web have cascading effects.
And to be even more specific, are there any that revolve around invasive species? I think that would be a really cool theme for a book, but I'm not sure if one exists.
