We've all seen a story when a woman gets brutally offed and her husband, who has a very particular set of skills, gets his revenge via a very high bodycount.
Are there any books like that but with the genders reversed? I'm looking for something dark. I'm on a sci-fi binge right now but any genre is fine.

Honor Harrington series, David Weber. Not in the first book but it works up to it.
Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane is about a mother avenging her daughter and son’s separate deaths. I enjoyed it.
