I’m headed out on a road trip from Oakland down historic route 99 with my kids tomorrow to spend a few days in LA.
Looking for YA-friendly* books that we can listen to on the drive where LA (or surrounds) features prominently (and positively) in the storyline.
Bonus points if we learn something about California history, or the books have mentions of actual places we could visit on the trip.
*We can handle non YA books that are engaging for younger audiences. A certain amount of violence and some swearing is ok but sex scenes would be awkward.
