I'm a Tolkien nerd and a general lover of myths and legends – tales as old as time. I know that Tolkien dabbled in some Arthurian legend and in COVID I started watching the BBC series "Merlin" which sprouted a fond affinity for Arthurian legend which led to me listening to a few podcasts here and there.
Now I want to read some more. Can anyone suggest some really good books that feature a thorough account of Arthurian legends?
I'd be most grateful!

{{ The Once and Future King by TH White }} is the “modern” version. Pretty great read; published in the 1950’s. The Disney film “The Sword in the Stone”, if you’re familiar, is an adaptation of the first part of the book.
Lev Grossman (who wrote the Magicians) just released a new book called {{ The Bright Sword }} that is Arthurian, but I haven’t read it yet, so I have no idea what it’s like.
