i want a book that feels like a summery escape, could be fantasy, realistic, or any genre (preferably not YA). i’d love something with a mamma mia/luca-esque vibe, that takes place by the ocean or an island. the issue is i’m a lesbian and i feel like a lot of the quintessentially summer books i come across revolve around straight romance or include it in the sub plot. i’m down for romance (not smut), but i think the fact that every book i’ve read has bombarded me with heterosexuality made me fall out of love with reading because i just didn’t feel represented and constantly got annoyed with hearing about it 😭😭 books with no romance are good too, just anything that does not revolve around heterosexuality or weave it into the main plot somehow!!
