Okay so this isn’t necessarily a suggestion but more a tip of my tongue kind of thing. I was reading this book a while back and it was abou either this biblical scholar or historian who gets enlisted by the government alongside 2 other individuals to be sent into the future. I didn’t finish it and don’t remember much but I do remember the final twist being >! the main character is revealed as being african american and finds himself stuck in the middle of a future racial civil war. That being where the book ended. !<
