Alright guys, unfortunately I’ve got an itch for books with the same feel as the Twister/Twisters films. Doesn’t have to be tornado-specific (I’ve already scoured the internet and apparently “tornado-chasers” is not at all a common trope in written fiction), but I’d love something with the whole “team of scientists who face down natural disasters in the hopes of learning more about them/preventing them” vibes. Hurricanes, earthquakes, imminent volcanic eruptions, killer blizzards, I’m down for anything.
Romance is fine but not required. Found family/family of choice vibes are great (but also not strictly required). And if at all possible I’d prefer things at least moderately well written. EDIT: should have added, preference for fiction stories (though always happy for some non-fiction recs as well!)
So, suggestions anyone?

What about Eruption by James Patterson and Michael Crichton?
I don’t think it will have the romance subplot though.
*Isaac’s Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane* [the 1900 Galveston hurricane] by Erik Larson.
*Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How it Changed America* by John M. Barry.
No suggestions, just wanted to thank you for writing this post so I didn’t have to! I’m going to follow and see what suggestions you get (hopefully quite a bit)
