I love listening to horror/thriller/crime novels while at work, I'm burning through them. I especially love books with a bit of mystery, weird stuff happening, "is it paranormal or is it real" vibes. Currently listening to We Used To Live Here and loving it.
A trope that's starting to stick out to me every time I come across it is the "MC is slowly going mad/seeing things/feeling creeped out, and no one believes them". I'm so sick of it! I feel nothing but frustration regarding Significant Other's blank platitudes and unwillingness to acknowledge how terrified the MC actually is, regardless of whether they believe them.
Suggest me a book with the total opposite! Supportive significant others, multiple people going crazy together, MCs getting help that just isn't quite effective – hit me with whatever you have.
