I mostly read existential and thought-provoking novels. I love them, but I think I have hit a bit of a depression or rut after the last 4-5 I have read. Farewell to Arms, Stoner, Notes from Underground, the Stranger, and now for Whom the Bell Tolls.

So what I am looking for is very M83 x Star Wars theme. What I mean by that is a book that may be sad during the course of the book (or not it can be happy) but main character triumphs at the end? Or at least emits feels of epic levels of redemption, sadness over the journey but joy for overcoming trials and tribulations? Another example would be Jean Valjean being whisked to heaven by Fontine. I feel like I need it right now.

Any fiction come to mind that meets that criteria, I would greatly appreciate the rec!
