I am in a slump with my my favorite genre and I could really use some get suggestions. I just got done with "We Used to Live Here" and it was AMAZING. Looking for something with a heavy sense of foreboding and dread.

A few parameters: it must be on audiobook. It also cannot be read by British narrators. Absolutely no hate but as an American, I just can't get into horror read in a British accent.. it sounds far too posh and proper to draw me in. Definitely also prefer something a little more modern, perhaps in the 2000s.

    Thank you!

I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Ian Reid (I didn’t listen to this one on audio but I know there’s an audio version, and it takes place in the US so I doubt the narrator would be British)
