A friend of mine son is turning six and I wanted to get him a book he can read by himself. He gets excited about books but I know he doesn't have books read TO him. I'm not sure his reading level but I don't believe its too high. So it needs to be easy enough for him to read but not too "babyish". By the way this sounds like his parents suck but they don't they just don't do a lot of sit down reading together.
