I know self-help books tend to get a bad rep these days for various reasons. Maybe the author just uses good sounding quotes without any direction for them to be used in, maybe they make the book too spiritual when the reader might not be, maybe the recommended steps simply don’t work in our day and age anymore. Who knows.

I know one off the top of my head get recommended over and over is Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. But I’m curious if there are any others out there that you think actually can help people and could actually be life-changing.

    1. James Clear’s Atomic Habits and David Allen’s Getting Things Done. Allen and Clear’s advice had a massive payoff to my workflow and work-related decisions (may it be in designing processes, doing research, managing daily operations). If there are any books in this category that are worth reading, it’s these two.

    2. The Now Habit by Neil Fiore is less popular than some answers you’ll get, but I found it incredibly good for learning and thinking about procrastination.

    3. Oh, I got it. To be honest, there are so many books. Could you describe it in more details? I’ll create some lists for you, based on your interest

No self-help book works, of course, unless the reader is hungry enough to change themselves with some trust in the material.

For me, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People has been a huge catalyst for positive change.
