I really enjoy when any media can pull a very visceral reaction from me. Gore/horror/sad stuff is some of my favorite.
I'd love some GOOD suggestions.
But, I don't just want things that are like… shock value for the sake of only being shock value. I want an amazing story with it where it isn't also just thinly veiled smut.
I'm open to any and everything; nothing is too much or TW material for me. Maybe throw in what the theme of the book is as well!
TIA!

There are others and there’s stuff in the realm of extreme horror, but I personally do not like it much, I feel like you in the sense of disliking shock for shock, I enjoy feeling a visceral reaction as well, however I need a coherent aesthetic too. Anyway, the books I mentioned all deal with violence, physical and psychological and sexual themes, most of them taboo as their names suggest, but I promise they all have interesting storytelling and style, hope you enjoy it, if you do and want to talk about it later I’m up. Take care.
