Suggest me a book like the vampire diaries but for adults
I just reread TVD and it was kinda underwhelming and obviously intended for a younger demographic. Any suggestions for a more mature audience? I need vampires, or even werewolves, fae, supernatural elements please <3
The October Daye series by Seanan McGuire sounds perfect for you. It’s fae instead of vampires. The series gets better and better after each book, especially after book 2. The first book is Rosemary and Rue.

i just finished reading a retelling of peter pan and the lost boys that has a crocodile, fae and shadows. vicious lost boys by nikki st. crow
i also read a semi retelling of beauty and the best with fae who turn into wolves. beasts of the briar series by elizabeth helen

I liked kitty goes to Washington by carrie vaughn. She has a whole series but that’s the only one I’ve read so far. The main character is a confident and capable woman who just happens to be a werewolf. She has a radio show for other supernaturals and goes on a date and gets captured by some military dicks and accidentally gets bonded to a vampire lady at one point. I just like that she seems to handle herself through everything, she’s an adult not waiting around for someone else to get her out of various messes. Im about to read long time listener, first time werewolf by the same author. Wonder how this is gonna go lol

*Fledgling*, by Octavia Butler: gory but fascinating. Butler’s writing is, as always, superb
*Sunshine*, by Robin McKinley: the vamp needs rescuing from the human, at one point!
*The Gilda Diaries*, by Jewelle Gomez. I really like that this book follows the main character throughout different time periods. Also, the vampires in this book and how they feed are a little different than the typical vampires, which I liked
**series:** *The Passage*, by Justin Cronin – first in a trilogy. These are dark and compelling, pretty immersive. There’s also an apocalyptic element.
The Kitty Norville series (werewolves but also vampires) – starting with *Kitty and the Midnight Hour*, by Carrie Vaughn.

Might be too hardcore but the Laurell k Hamilton series is pretty intense.
