Edit: non-mythology AND non-war
I adore Ancient Greece/Rome/Middle East historical fiction that focuses on women but I absolutely cant stand mythology or myths.
My favourite book ever was The Wolf Den trilogy by Elodie Harper which was about female slaves in Pompeii.
Looking at all the other popular Ancient Greece/Rome his fic books they all seem to be modern MYTHOLOGY re-tellings. Or alternatively they are about wars and male soldiers.
Is there anything at all that is ‘realistic’ and not based on any myths or mythologies?
