    Hello!

I’m hoping you might be able to recommend some books that fall under a certain niche I’ve been thinking about recently. Big conceptual horror dealt with on a smaller, more personal scale. A key example from one of my favourite books, House of Leaves, is when the main character becomes deeply obsessed when he discovers his house is only 1/4” larger on the inside than the outside. There’s this idea that’s outside the scope of anything these people have dealt with before, but is so small and unexplainable that the only way to go about it is rationally and methodically.

Another example is from the TV show The Curse where [the main character wakes up pulled by an opposite gravity to the ceiling, and the rest of the episode is spent figuring out what to do and how to resolve it, whilst also being a great metaphor for the relationship that’s brought the couple to this climactic point.]

In both of these cases there are larger conceptual anomalies that can border on horrific, but are dealt with on a smaller, more intimate scale. There’s probably more nuance to why those examples stick out to me, but I’m hoping there are some good books out there that fit within this niche that could be recommended.

Thank you in advance! Have a great rest of your day!
