Earlier this year I started to read again, and while I’ve enjoyed most of the books I’ve read since, I’ve found that there have only been a few I’ve really struggled to put down. I’d like suggestions for more books like this.

Coraline by Neil Gaiman, The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima, The Stranger by Albert Camus, Death in Venice by Thomas Mann.

I feel the main reason I couldn’t put these books down is the length. None of these are over 200 pages and I feel like if I know I can get through the whole story in a day, I’ll want to get through the whole story in a day. Other than that, I was just really looking forward to finding out what would happen next or at the end. When I had to stop reading I’d have a bunch of questions, so I’d want to get back to the book ASAP.

I appreciate any recommendations, even if they aren’t super similar to the books mentioned. Thanks in advance
