I like: thoughtful and gentle characters; natural sciences; atmospheric and slow kind of horror; mystery; strangeness and surrealism
I would love if it was very scientific-sounding if that makes sense. As in, it doesn't have to be 100% correct, but I want it to feel like a scientist could have written it. My favourite topics are biology, especially plants and fungi, earth sciences like meteorology or geology and medicine. If it's not horror, but you think I might like it, I'd love to hear about it too!
Books I liked that somewhat fit the theme:
"Leech" by Hiron Ennes
"Annihilation" by Jeff Vandermeer
"What Moves the Dead" by T. Kingfisher
"Mexican Gothic" by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant sounds like something you would enjoy. Biology and science is a major aspect of it
