I’m about to enter my first year of college for a Mechanical Engineering degree! As I’m entering this world of adulthood, I’m coming to the realization that I have no idea what I’m doing financially.

Thanks to my parents, I should be leaving college debt free or with very minimal debt. I know it’s early to be thinking about the money I’ll be making in four years but I feel like I’m so financially illiterate right now so I’d rather learn before I start making real money.

I’m looking for a book designed specifically for younger audiences like myself. I’d like something made for absolute beginner. My main financial goal is to be able to pay for my mom to retire, so if there is any books that specifically talk about setting someone else up financially I’d be interested in that as well.

I feel like most financial books are written to be get rich quick schemes and also heavily catered towards men. I’d like something reasonable that doesn’t promise any crazy goals and preferably not by some alpha male.

Sorry for rambling! I’d appreciate any suggestions that come my way 🙂

TL;DR I am young and financially illiterate, suggest me a book that will help me save and become financially independant out of college
