Since 1 credit is 1 credit no matter the book length, I’d like to make the most of them! I normally read a lot of non-fiction but I like fiction for audiobooks, though it’s not a must. Maybe something fantasy or sci-fi’ish? Or historical. Not really into romance or sexy stuff.

Things I’ve already listened to and enjoyed include the LotR trilogy and all other stuff like The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, HP, The Swarm (might try some of Schätzing’s other work next), all of Dune, all of The Witcher, the full Sherlock Holmes collection (my rec to you as it’s read by Stephen Fry and is 71hrs for 1 credit), and some Stephen King stuff. Jurassic Park was a super fun listen too. One I just finished and didn’t like as much was The Martian.

I know this isn’t much to go on, but just drop your favorite long a$$ books and we’ll go from there!

    2. Hyperion by Dan Simmons – the audiobook has a full cast, and it’s over 20 hours

Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey – also over 20 hours

For non-fiction, the Great Courses series are on Audible, and most of them are very long

The Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith… the last book that just came out was 34 hours

I agree with the Shōgun suggestion too!

    5. I’ve been listening to and enjoying The Deluge by Stephen Markley, which clocks in at around 40 hours.

    6. Game of thrones gets very long the deeper you go in. The last one being just under 49 hours

    7. It’s non-fiction, but I really enjoyed the audiobook of *Warhol* by Blake Gopnik. It’s 44 hours long.

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (I still think about this book nearly every day)

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (fantasy)

The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Fillet (historical fiction)

      Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

You could try out the Malazan books. Starting with Gardens of the moon. Fantasy series with a world that’s probably even more in depth than Lotr. I’ve read the first three of ten and they are all super long.

Most Ron Chernow and Walter Isaacson biographies run about 40 hours. Lots of historical figures to choose from.

    11. Sorry this isn’t a recommendation but could you explain to me how audible works? I used a YouTubers link to get 2 credits free and I’ve used one already. My question is this a monthly subscription? Do I just buy more credits? Also why do people like audible. I use hoopla and Libby and get free audiobooks. I don’t see the point in audible.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke seems like a perfect fit. A lengthy historical fantasy brought to life in the audio format.
