recommendations for Brian Doyle-like authors?

I absolutely loved Mink River and Martin Marten. I recently picked up The Plover and looking forward to it for a summer read. Can anyone recommend authors similar? Although there is no one quite like Doyle, and I grieve his death when I think of not getting anymore novels from him, does anyone come close? Thank you!
