_Then Again, Maybe I Won’t_ by Judy Blume was quite possibly the most relatable book I ever read as a young, mid-pubescent boy. I don’t remember many specifics (I’m now a middle-aged dude), but concepts of a few passages still stick around in my brain.
Similarly, I feel like the _Ramona_ books by Beverly Cleary also do a good job portraying Ramona’s interpretation of events. Those are interesting (sometimes hard) to read again as a parent of kids with ADHD.
