Haven’t read a book in about 15 years aside from some manga/graphic novel. I’m looking to expand my horizons and find some stuff to really dig into. Books I’ve read that I’ve enjoyed in the past are books like the Percy Jackson series, Artemis Fowl, and other teen action/adventure stuff. I also enjoyed the book Shane in school. Other shows and media I enjoy a lot are much more varied and include a lot of different genres and settings. Thanks!

Try Lonesome Dove, it will be different than anything you’ve read and probably a top three book for you, the writing is superb

    2. If you like YA adventure/action, I might check out the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.

I also like Leigh Bardugo’s YA duologies, Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom and King of Scars/Rule of Wolves. Her adult series, Ninth House and Hell Bent, are great reads too.

    3. Those are the kind of books I read when I was younger, as well as The Chronicles of Narnia.

So what got me back into reading were authors like Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, because both have funny elements but still have the adventure of the books I read as a child/teen. I’d probably recommend starting with Pratchett as I find his books easier to digest.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is along a similar vein, but sci-fi. They’re also quite short books.

Then I think go with whatever takes your fancy. If you don’t enjoy it, put it down and try something else instead because life’s too short to be reading a book you don’t like.
