Hi! Please suggest me a book relating to mystery, fiction, sci-fi, thriller, or adventure fiction. Thank you!
Hi 🙂 I have a friend (22M) who’d like to start reading, but doesn’t know where to start. He can get intimidated by books with 300+ pages, so a short series would do. Thank you for any replies!
I’d suggest starting with the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, beginning with The Final Empire. It’s a fantasy series and the books tend to be longer than 300 pages, however it’s quite quickly paced, easy to get into and worked to get me back into reading at a similar age!

The southern reach trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer. A complete mindfuck. But i have to warn you though, it is quite open to interpretation, but definitely worth the read.

Yahtzee Croshaw, funny author with great characters.
Differently Morphus – Governmental agency involved in the regulation of magic and extra dimensional beings.
Will save the galaxy for food – An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing.
These are under 300 pages, but the sequels are around 350. If your friend likes them, it could help him ease into some slightly longer books as well.

Penric’s Demon by Lois Macmaster Bujold. It’s the first of a series of novellas, so if he likes it there’s several more.
