Recently I started Raymond Chandler: The Detections of Totality by Fredric Jameson and found it super interesting and I was wondering if there’s any non-fiction exploration on the nature of the genre. Something also along the lines of Noir Anxiety by Kelly Oliver.
Any book about state secrets or public paranoia would also be a great help. Something along the lines of Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell.
