I just finished The Confessor by Andrew Turpin (about the murder of some Catholic cardinals) and it’s the first time I’ve read one of these thriller mysteries with a female lead. I found it really refreshing not reading about a lone wolf man with a “beautiful female sidekick”, and was hoping for more.
Not just regular thrillers please, but ones that have some historical or cultural links or people with jobs like art restorer or professor or the like. And preferably something set in foreign cities where the setting becomes another character.
