I recently picked up Do Not Disturb by Frieda McFadden after enjoying The Housemaid, which I found to be a real page-turner. Unfortunately, this one didn't hit the mark for me.
Spoiler alert
Right from the start, I guessed Claudia was having an affair with the protagonist’s husband. However, that alone, did not explain the rampage Claudia went on suddenly.
When Greta was introduced, it was clear to me that she had murdered the tenant in room 201.
The writing felt shabby, uninteresting, and highly predictable. The characters lacked depth and were poorly developed.
I'm genuinely surprised this book has a 4/5 rating on Goodreads. Additionally, the audiobook narration was a letdown. The narrator's voice for Quinn Alexander was a constant semi-crying tone, which didn't make sense to me at all.
Overall, the only reason I finished this book was because I don't like leaving books halfway through.
