As temperatures quickly drop, I’m looking for some comfy cozy folksy books to read next to the fire. Excluding LOTR and The Hobbit as I’ve read those already.
Sounds like you want fantasy folksy rather than just any old novel.
I think you’d like Terry Brooks’ Shannara books [there are loads, but I started with The Sword of Shannara] – or his YA series about a regular guy who becomes king of a magic kingdom – the Landover series. The latter is big on cozy vibes!

The Discovery of Witches series by Deborah Harkness
Mitford series by Jan Karon (not fantasy but a very cozy series-so wholesome!)

I’m currently reading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Fairies and it takes places in a tiny Scandinavian village during October – February. It’s perfectly cozy, wintery cottage core.
