very specific fantasy request

okay. i am 21 and YA just doesn’t do it for me anymore. but i want fantasy princess fairy shit. i need it for my soul. BUT i find a lot of adult fantasy rather boring. i liked game of thrones but was like 17 when i read it so i struggled to finish. it was just kind of boring. same with LOTR, can never finish. i feel like all of it is also so male oriented and i need shit for the girls.

sarah j maas is not for me. i want something more sophisticated than that. the house in the cerulean sea is close to what im looking for, but it was a little too YA for me.

i’m thinking of the (italics) Wings series by Aprilynne Pike but for adults. Wings meets like game of thrones. sex is okay but not necessary. queer stuff is encouraged but a lot of that can teeter on cringe. like, i loved Carry On growing up but those are not the vibes i want.

sorry this is so long but i just enjoy new adult stuff a lot, but all of it is depressing. love mossfegh, roony, etc but i am tired of reading only sad stuff and i want more magic.

so in full esssence (tldr):

i want books that combine my current love of the contemp. adult fic style/themes with my childhood love of high fantasy, but not as male gazey as game of thrones or LOTR. love fairies specifically.
