Hey guys! I recently got back into reading novels/books and was wondering if any of you had recommendations for romance books? I'm looking to diversify my reading, because as of right now all of the books that I have read/TBR are Horror and Science Fiction.
The romance can be straight or LGBTQ+. I have no preference except that I would prefer it not be YA. I don't have anything against it I just feel like I'm not the target audience for it and I tend not to care for the love interests.

Try, **This Is How You Lose the Time War** by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. Won a ton of awards. Not your typical romance, style or setting. Will appeal to your Sci-Fi leanings.
The [Saints of Steel](https://app.thestorygraph.com/series/1200210) books by T. Kingfisher! I really enjoyed them, and I don’t typically read romance.
Do you like spice? Emily Henry, Sally Thorne, Christina Lauren and Sarah Hogle are my must read authors

**contemporary romance**
*A Cowboy To Remember*, by Rebekah Weatherspoon (first in a trilogy). She takes some romance tropes and makes them interesting! and great chemistry between the characters.
I really like Mhairi McFarlane’s newer books (2016 and onward – they were kind of rough before then) – she has a wonderfully dry British sense of humor.
*One to Watch*, by Kate Stayman-London. “Plus size” Main Female Character goes on a Bachelor style dating show.
Rosie Danan’s *The Roommate.* What happens when you fall for your roommate who works in porn? Really smart, thoughtful and not prone to sterotypes.
Alyssa Cole’s *Reluctant Royals* series. Perfect blend of intriguing and satisfying. Like, she writes the modern-day Cinderella tale the way you *wish* someone would.
Helen Hoang’s books are great, but pretty erotic! In particular, *The Bride Test* was wonderful and so interesting – a modern “mail order bride” (sort of) and her experience
**historical romance**
Evie Dunmore’s series. Victorian England and some really interesting social commentary. Starts with Bringing Down the Duke.
Virginia Heath’s *Never Rescue a Rogue*
If you want more erotic themes, Sarah McLean’s *Bombshell* and the other Hell’s Bell’s books are fun!
If you want less erotica, Mimi Matthews is great.
